Agenda: Showcasing impact of AMDT work in Tanzanian agriculture

This year it made a comeback by bringing  together hundreds of exhibitors from the private sector, public institutions, academia, research institutions, policymakers, advocacy groups and development organisations working in Tanzania.

At the Agenda 10/30 launch in Dodoma in April, the Minister of Agriculture, Hon. Hussein Bashe, committed in front of President Samia Suluhu that his ministry would transform the Nane Nane event into a premier international agriculture sector showcase to open opportunities and attract investment into the sector in Tanzanian. Its edition this year was held in Mbeya City providing opportunities for the private sector and other key sector actors to engage with state and non-state institutions in forging partnerships and synergies to push for agricultural development.

AMDT participated alongside its last mile beneficiaries and partners who are impacted by the its massive market systems development work across Tanzania. The participants were agriculture entrepreneurs running sunflower oil processing, and food processing as well as animals feeds processors. Additionally, Tanzania Agricultural Research Institute (TARI) through its Ilonga Centre, was also invited to showcase results of the sunflower seed project, a partnership between AMDT and the Ministry in transforming the sunflower value chain and the edible oil industry in Tanzania.
